Because of how Dead by Daylight's chases happen, there usually isn't enough time to take a clip in the moment. Several times I've tried and gotten hit or died because of it. A few things that could be added is hitting and downing survivors or using the "kill" button(called 'mori' by the community) for killer, and escaping chases, stunning killers, and getting hit and downed for survivors.
