Youtubers run into this all the time where they were listening to a copyrighted song at the time of the highlight and can't use the audio. Having the music as a separate source/track/file or being able to choose to only record programs and not overall system audio would be really helpful.
Admittedly I have no idea how you'd do this - but it would be awesome!
make the eding more complicated but still easy to use and make it so we can mute our mic

At a minimum I need the game and mic audio in seperate tracks so that I can remove excess mic chatter and noise during editing.

To achieve this you can use voicemeeter and their virtual cables, slap your game through one, your music through another and output to your speakers, set OBS, outplayed, whatever you use to the virtual input for your game, done. Split audio. :)

Consider this suggestion. I mean I have a mix dial in my audio that separates discord audio and game audio. When recording the game audio, highlights cant hear the discord chat but you'll hear yourself since you have the same mic set up with discord and the software.

Or you could just use voicemeeter

you would be able to do this by not recording it in the first place eg. only record game sound vs system sound
